I've been searching for Federal Gold Medal Match ammo (711B) for 6 months now, and nothing has been available. I haven't found much else for target ammo at all (under $10 a box). On Saturday I went through the routine checks of Midway USA, Graf & Sons, Mid-South, etc. etc. etc. and finally found some Winchester T-22 target ammo. This has shot well in my .22 target pistol in the past so I ordered some. It was about $3.75 a box shipped when ordered by the brick. If you need some, better order soon, this is the first I've found in a long time. contentcamo.gif

Oh, maybe you wanted to know where that was?? blushcamo.gif

FWIW, Midsouth now carries RWS ammo, which I've had good luck with in the past. It's pricey though. Never the less I'm glad to see Midsouth expanding their dismal rimfire ammo selection that has consisted of 90% CCI fodder in the past.

P.S., Champion Shooters Supply http://www.championshooters.com/index-ssl.html has a good selection to choose from. Eley Sport for $26/brick. I've been shooting their SK subs in the Anschutz with excellent accuracy and very good game stopping capability compared to Wolf Match ammo.

They also have the T-22 ammo for $31 per brick.

493999 1 $8.99 Remington CBee Ammunition 22 Lon...
632264 1 $7.99 Wolf Match Extra Ammunition 22 L...
617415 1 $6.99 SK Rifle Match Ammunition 22 Lon...
350888 1 $6.99 RWS Target Rifle Ammunition 22 L...
658014 1 $5.49 SK Standard Plus Ammunition 22 L...

I just received this order from midway a couple weeks ago for testing a late-20's Steven's which I mounted a side mount scope smile.gif

Wolf did very badly in it. RWS was not the best either. SK rifle and SK standard groups the best and by a good margin. Nonetheless, I sighted it in for the CBee's biggrin.gif I had several missfires and it's really dirty but it groups much better than CCI CB Longs and have an aggressive hp and just a tad more snort. It's my 30 yrd rabbit gun smile.gif

I've had better results with Wolf Match "Target" than I did with the more expensive Match "Extra". FL, in case you are unaware, SK Standard Plus is identical to Wolf Match "Target". Neither is very impressive in the Ruger, but the Anschutz loves WMT/SK Standard Plus. Unfortunately these aren't real good hunting bullets.

I'm shooting nothing but LR Subs these days. Eley, SK, and Aguila in four different rifles. Each offers a good quality expanding HP bullet that really thumps squirrels. The Aguila is not quite as accurate but I can live with the slightly less accurate round in that particular rifle with the significant cost savings over the other two.

I didn't know that the wolf match target was the same as the SK standard plus. Those SK's really outdid everything else I tried (Green Tag was also tested). Nonetheless, I really like the low noise of the CBee's for starlings and rabbits.

What Anschutz did you get?! ph34r.gif

1416D HB - I like it.

Ditto on the CB's. We shoot them at backyard pests out of Dean's Henry. Only trouble is, sometimes the dead Starlings attract stray cats. You wouldn't have any idea what could be done about stray cats....would you? rolleyes.gif

You could take them in, make sure they get proper nutrition, groom them and raise them into proper adults that you could be proud of.

or not. cool.gif

Good point. With carefull attention to nutrition and grooming, one might reap a much nicer hat.
