I decided to go after the Black Bandits today. I sat in a tree/brush line between a cut soybean field & a hay field facing the bean field where I have permission. I got setup with 5 decoys, the FX3 & two hand calls. I hand called for a while to no avail. They would call back but not respond. I think it was the fog. So I decided to use the FX3. I can get busier sounds from it. That was the ticket. Now they could locate my setup from the audio. The only other problem was I was by myself & they were coming from every direction. It's tough to bust em when they appear at 30yds out of no where. biggrincamo.gif I managed to make some GOOD crows out of live ones tho. biggrincamo.gif

The sun rising. Or trying to anyhow.

A pic out across the field at ground level.

The body count.

Cool. wish I was with you.

And even more impressive is the way your able to drop them out of the sky in a "9" pattern. I'm doing good just to hit them!

Is that frost or snow on the ground? Not really looking forward to winter around here.

I haven't tried to call crows for a couple of years now. The best I ever did was to have a couple do a flyover but not land.

I'm glad you made nine good ones. cool.gif

Way to go Glen I love crow shooting. I have an older FoxPro just loaded up with crow calls. I wish we could use a rifle on them out here in California though. I really enjoy wing shooting them but a rifle would sure come in handy later in the day when they've wised up.

I agree John. Wingshooting is a lot of fun. I have got to rifle a couple and altho there is a skill to it at distance,, my furthest is 245yds with the 204,, shotgunning them is still my personal favorite. Thanks!! biggrincamo.gif

Looks like fun to me! We cant shoot them here and they are startin' to take over areas. They eat what ever they can get ahold of. Dead or alive.

They are alot of fun to shoot!! Do the rules allow it if you don't decoy or call them?? They would fall under crop damage or predation that way. biggrincamo.gif

There is no season for them. The birds We can only shoot with out a license are common sparrows and starlings last I checked. May need to check on it again.

That sucks. Those damn things cause so much damage to crops around here & the songbird population also gets hit hard every spring. One crow flies close to the nest & when the nesting pair gives chase the other swoops in & steals the eggs or the young.

The only GOOD crow is a DEAD crow. biggrincamo.gif
